Featured in the photo are Board of Education Member- Mr. Larry Hardway, Board of Education Member-Dr. Kenna Seal, BCS Board of Education President- Ms. Evelyn Post, Burnsville Elementary Nominee - Instructional Aide Shaina Shaver, BCS Service Personnel Recipient of the Year -Davis Elementary Cook Kay Holocomb, Board of Education Member- Ms Lisa Ratliff, Superintendent of Schools- Dr. Rhonda Combs & Board of Education Member- Mr. Kevin Gregory. Not in attendance were nominees Michelle Shreve from Flatwoods Elementary, Victoria Allen from Frametown Elementary, Chelsea Hosey from Little Birch Elementary, Kelly Pritt from Braxton County Middle School & Alison Westfall from Braxton County High School. Sutton Elementary did not have a nominee.

We will be having our end of year awards ceremonies on Monday, May 22nd.
K-2 awards will be at 9:00 and 3rd-5th awards will be at 10:30 in the gym. Parents can enter through the 3rd floor door by our gym on this day for awards and are also invited to attend our Title I meeting at 8:45 before the first awards begin. We hope to see you there. :)
Dragon day is tomorrow (Monday, May 1st) at Davis Elementary for students and staff! Don't forget to wear your DAVIS gear and/or school colors (blue and gold) to show school spirit. We are so proud of our Dragons for their hard work and efforts this year! Our WVGSA tests are this week for grades Third through Fifth. Just a reminder that today, Friday, April 28 is a 2 hour Early Out for students, and our school will be dismissed 2 hours earlier than on a normal day, so we will begin dismissing at 1:20 today instead of 3:20. Have a good afternoon Davis Dragons!

Wednesday, March 29th is Spring Picture Day at Davis Elementary.
Also, Friday, March 31st is a 3 hour Early Out for students, and our Spring Break for students and staff is April 3rd through 7th. Have a good afternoon Davis Dragons!
Our Parent Teacher Conferences at Davis Elementary will be on Tuesday, March 21 from 3:30-5:30pm. Please call the school to schedule a time if you have not already done so. Also, our new Dragon's Lair is complete and ready to visit thanks to our Partners in Education, PTO, and volunteer efforts! We hope to see you tomorrow night Dragons!
Just a reminder that tomorrow, March 16th, is the Shamrockin' Dance. All Davis Elementary students, Pre-K through 5th, are welcome to attend. Please note that all students must have an adult stay with them throughout the entire dance. The cost of admission is $3.00 per person. Concessions will also be available at additional cost. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow evening from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Have a great evening Davis Dragons!
This is a reminder that there will be NO school for Braxton County students on Monday, March 13th due to our school calendar’s scheduled staff training day. We look forward to seeing our students back at school on Tuesday, March 14th this week. Tuesday, March 14th is also the due date for donations of concession stand items for our Shamrockin' Dance on Thursday, March 16th from 5:00-6:30pm. Thank you for the help and support. Please join us tonight for Family Math Night on Thursday, March 9th from 5:00 – 6:30. We will be learning about geometry by visiting 8 different stations. Those in attendance will receive a dry erase board, marker, eraser, and a light snack. We hope to see you there! **UPDATE: IT’S OK FOR STUDENTS TO ATTEND EVEN IF THEY HAVEN’T RSVP’ed** Also, we will have our monthly PTO meeting prior to Family Math Night at 4:00pm.
