Tomorrow DES is celebrating Fire Safety with Gassaway Volunteer Fire Department.
We sincerely thank our volunteer fire department members. Remember to ask you child what they learned about Fire Safety when they return home.

Davis Elementary Families,
Come out and join us for our October PTO meeting. The meeting begins at 4:00 in the cafeteria. Every class that has their teacher and at least 1 guardian in attendance earns 10 minutes of extra recess on Wednesday. The class with the most attendance earns 15 minutes of extra recess. Hope to see you there. We will be discussing Trick or Treating and our Fall Carnival.

Today, Davis Elementary students brought home a flyer about our Duck Derby fundraiser. Students can buy 1 duck for $5 or a "quack pack of 5 ducks" for $20. We will release the ducks and have them race down the river later on this month. Students get to choose there very own duck if they choose to purchase one for the race. We have a variety of ducks for them to choose from. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 3 is Picture Day at Davis Elementary School.

This week Davis Elementary is participating in Spirit Week with BCHS. Monday is Mosey Monday. So where your comfy clothes or pjs. Also, feel free to attend the Homecoming Parade Thursday @ 6:00 in Gassaway. Lastly, our school will be traveling to the high school field on Friday for a county-wide pep rally.

Remember this Friday night at BCHS there will be many vendors set up for your family to enjoy to celebrate the Community Connections Event on September 15th, 5-7 pm.

Just a reminder to our fourth and fifth grade students that scored Mastery or Above on their Summative Assessment, you received a free ticket to Friday September 15th Eagle's Football Game. Food will also be provided for you and one adult from 5:30-6:30. Can't wait to see you there.

We will be having our end of year awards ceremonies on Monday, May 22nd.
K-2 awards will be at 9:00 and 3rd-5th awards will be at 10:30 in the gym. Parents can enter through the 3rd floor door by our gym on this day for awards and are also invited to attend our Title I meeting at 8:45 before the first awards begin. We hope to see you there. :)
Dragon day is tomorrow (Monday, May 1st) at Davis Elementary for students and staff! Don't forget to wear your DAVIS gear and/or school colors (blue and gold) to show school spirit. We are so proud of our Dragons for their hard work and efforts this year! Our WVGSA tests are this week for grades Third through Fifth. Thank you parents for encouraging your children each day, supporting their learning goals this year, and ensuring their testing efforts this coming week. Have a good evening, Davis Dragons!😊
